The list of accusations is long: cultural appropriation and racism, abuse, manipulation and exploitation. The details of what is true are of little consequence. One thing is certain: Gustav Gundesson – the famous singer songwriter who had it all – is canceled! But he is not the only one who has to answer for his own missteps. A web of accusations, desperate attempts at justification and mutual accusations quickly unfolds, in which no one is really safe: not Sky, Gustav’s former and now much more successful band colleague and lover, not his wife Klara, the unscrupulous editor-in-chief of a major newspaper, and not Klara’s investigative coworker Stanka, who likes to go over the top.

“Slippery Slope” paints a highly entertaining panorama of the contemporary entertainment industry and its culture of debate: Who tells which story? Who is profiting from it? And who should keep their mouth shut?

With “Slippery Slope”, Nestroy Award winner Felix Hafner stages a pointed “fast musical” of quick-witted dialog and rousing songs. Graz-based musician Sandy Lopičić is the musical director and will be performing live on stage with his band.

The production mixes English songs and German spoken texts. All performances are accessible in both languages thanks to the alternating surtitles.

Duration: 2 hours 10 minutes, with break

There is a growing list of accusations: cultural appropriation, racist interpretation, abuse, and degradation. The details of what is true are of little consequence. One thing is certain: Gustav Gundesson – the famous singer songwriter who had it all – is canceled! But he is not the only one who must answer for his own missteps. A web of accusations, desperate attempts at justification and mutual accusations quickly unfolds, in which no one is really safe: not Sky, Gustav’s former and now much more successful band colleague and lover, not his wife Klara, the unscrupulous editor of a major newspaper, and not Klara’s investigative co-worker Stanka, who likes to go over the top from time to time.

“Slippery Slope” paints a highly entertaining panorama of the contemporary entertainment industry and its culture of debate: Who is telling which story? Who is profiting from it? And who would be better off keeping their mouth shut?

With “Slippery Slope”, Nestroy Award winner Felix Hafner stages a pointed “almost musical” with snappy dialog and gripping songs. Graz-based musician Sandy Lopičić is the musical director and will be on stage as part of the live band.

All performances are accessible in both languages through alternating surtitles.
