Trio Suonno d’Ajere (IT):

The name of the trio from Naples, founded in 2016, roughly means “The dream of yesterday” and refers to the song of the same name on Pino Daniele’s debut album “Terra Mia” (1977). The three musicians have dedicated themselves entirely to the exploration and contemporary reworking of traditional Neapolitan songs. The creations of this lively trio with a new album about love explore all the nuances without falling into cliché kitsch. Suonno d’Ajere give the Neapolitan genre a modern touch and continue the classical form instrumentally. Irene Scarpato’s richly varied vocals enhance the powerful dignity of the music.
