Birgit Denk & Band: Silberhochzeit

Since Birgit Denk and her men gave their first concert in the “Shelter” cellar pub in Vienna in April 2000, a lot of water has flowed down the Danube and a lot has changed in the band’s life and work. One constant remained, they always created dialect music together. Birgit Denk, Alex Horstmann, Ludwig Ebner-Reiter, Harald Wiesinger and Philipp “Disco” Mayer can boast TV appearances, 11 albums, a DVD, videos on the Internet and a tour that has lasted almost 25 years.Enthusiastic, authentic, committed, approachable, funny, serious and as uniquely “zaum ghatzt” as only bands that have been playing together for so long can achieve, they still meet numerous audiences who appreciate handmade music, for whom lyrics are important, who like to be addressed, like to be there, united “completely out” and proud of it. The fact that Birgit Denk and her colleagues have been together for 25 years deserves to be celebrated. This “silver wedding anniversary” prompts the band to present excerpts from all their albums to their old and new audiences.
