“Get the Dudli…” said Joe Zawinul after he stood in for the “Zawinul Syndicate” at Casino Velden in 2002. And that’s exactly what we’re doing – the legend is coming to Graz. Joris Dudli will be performing with his quartet at the Schauspielhaus Graz on May 9, 2025 at ALL That JAZZ. …
Dudli played as a permanent member of the Vienna Art Orchestra and the Art Farmer Quintet from 1979 to 1985. He then moved to the USA, where he worked with many world-famous musicians. There he played with Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Johnny Griffin, Mullgrew Miller, Clifford Jordan, Joe Lovano, Joe Henderson, Harold Mabern and Sonny Fortune, among others. The list of names and projects is quite long, and his creative power knows no bounds. The latest production from the jazz drummer “Boundaries Expanded” suddenly surprises with Percussion & Vocals by Joris Dudli, so that you can’t help but think of the words of Phil Collins: “I’m not a singer who plays a little bit of drums. I’m a drummer who sings a little bit.”
