As part of the 11th International Choir Festival VOICES OF SPIRIT
– VOCAL JAZZ MEETS BARBERSHOP AND SWEETSPOT –
An evening full of vocal diversity, captivating timbres and international vocal artistry awaits the audience on May 30 at the Orpheum Graz. The concert “Vocal Jazz meets Barbershop and SweetSpot” combines three outstanding musical highlights as part of the renowned VOICES OF SPIRIT choir festival. …
World-famous jazz singer Simone Kopmajer will kick off the event together with eight selected participants from her jazz singing masterclass. They will present special arrangements and original compositions that were created during the intensive workshop days – fresh, soulful and full of passion.
Afterwards, Blake Morgan, celebrated American tenor of the vocal ensemble VOCES8, will provide a stylistic change with his specially assembled festival men’s project choir: classical barbershop pieces meet precision, harmony and tongue-in-cheek charm.
The crowning finale is the Styrian ensemble SweetSpot, which delights the audience with innovative a cappella arrangements, rhythmic sophistication and palpable stage joy.
A musical evening that builds stylistic bridges – from sensitive vocal jazz to charming barbershop and modern a cappella sounds from Styria.
