Peter Jackson’s hit film celebrates its 20th anniversary as a live concert with a large orchestra.
The legendary world of hobbits, elves and orcs is brought to life in a grand concert experience with symphonic orchestra, choir and star guests.
From the menacing sounds of Mordor and the shrill attack of the Black Riders to the beautiful lyrical melodies of the Elves – the magnificent orchestra, the soloists and our star guests transform reality into a musical setting of Middle-earth. The voice of Saruman, Sir Christopher Lee, leads all film music lovers into the fantastic musical world of ‘Lord of the Rings’.
A star guest from the films will be on hand to guide you through the program.…
Composer Howard Shore created much of the music for the film trilogies ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’, for which he was awarded an Oscar, Grammys and a Golden Globe. As with Richard Wagner’s ‘Ring of the Nibelung’, his leitmotifs allow the audience to feel the ring unfolding its power and corrupting the bearer of all power: A parable that could well fit into today’s world.
Whether bombastic with timpani and trumpets or elvishly delicate, the familiar melodies performed by a fantastic orchestra and great soloists immediately conjure up the right images in the mind. Have fun in Middle-earth!
