It could have been so wonderful, but just as singer-songwriter Gustav Gundesson is about to receive the prestigious Polar Music Prize, his career collapses. Companions: inside turn against him. Cultural appropriation and racism, abuse, manipulation and exploitation are the accusations. The fact that the self-image of the artist, who is all too convinced of himself, looks different is irrelevant. One thing is certain: the award ceremony is canceled and Gustav’s career is declared over indefinitely. But once Cancel Culture has emerged, it unfolds as a chain reaction. No one is really safe from it: not Sky, Gustav’s former and now much more successful band colleague and lover, not his wife Klara, the unscrupulous editor-in-chief of a major newspaper, and not Klara’s investigative colleague Stanka, who likes to go over the top.

“Slippery Slope” paints a highly entertaining panorama of contemporary debate culture. Who is telling which story? Who is profiting from it? And who would be better off keeping their mouth shut?

Felix Hafner, director of the “I AM FROM AUSTRIA” series, which was always sold out last season, is staging “Slippery Slope”, a witty and wicked “fast musical” with pointed dialog and rousing songs. Graz-based musician Sandy Lopičić is the musical director and will also be performing live on stage.
