Information
More detailsA hairdressing salon is a place to meet, to transform, to relax, to try things out, to start afresh, to be intimate, a place for Prosecco and coffee. Everyone is welcome. The millionaire sits next to the student. The student sits next to the actor. The actress sits next to the politician. The politician sits next to the grandma. The grandpa sits next to the sexist. The sexist sits next to the housewife. The househusband sits next to the baker. The baker sits next to the young man in the wheelchair. The woman with a disability sits next to her mother… Scissors, a comb and creativity should boost self-esteem! But what happens if that doesn’t work?…
In the inclusive co-production of the Theaterakademie LebensGroß and the Mezzanin Theater “Stories from the Hairdressing Salon”, we transform the premises of the Schauspielhaus Graz into a crazy hairdressing salon. In a fun, critical way, we negotiate the concepts of beauty, physicality, disability and work in an environment that is familiar to everyone. The Theaterakademie LebensGroß has been training stage actors with disabilities since 2024 and is supported by the Licht ins Dunkel innovation fund.
