Bühnen Graz endeavors to make our websites accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act as amended for the implementation of the European Accessibility Directive(Directive 2019/882) on the accessibility requirements of products and services.
The WCAG 2.2 guideline for accessible web content was adhered to as far as possible.
You can find more detailed information on the conclusion of the contract (description of our services, explanations on the implementation of our services) under: AGB
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not barrier-free for the following reasons:
Incompatibility with accessibility regulations:
HTML is used on individual pages to format content. This means that WCAG success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and relationships) is not met. In the CMS system used and the editor available there, certain elements (e.g. column width of tables) are formatted via “inline” style information. In areas where this formatting could be replaced with reasonable technical effort, it was replaced by corresponding CSS rules (cascading stylesheets).
Ticket purchase via seating plan
For some performances, it is currently only possible to buy tickets in the webshop via a seating plan. This seating plan is currently not completely barrier-free. In addition to the seating plan, we are also endeavoring to offer a barrier-free best seat booking. Implementation is planned for July 2025. In the meantime, we kindly ask you to purchase tickets that can only be purchased via the seating plan by telephone on +43 316 8000 or in person at the Ticket Center at Kaiser-Josef-Platz 10.
Disproportionate burden:
Videos
The subtitles are missing for some recorded videos, meaning that the spoken content is not available for deaf users. This means that WCAG success criterion 1.2.2 (subtitles recorded) is not met.
Some of our videos are hosted and published via the video platform YouTube. Once individual videos have been published, it is no longer possible to provide the required audio descriptions. This means that WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (audio description recorded) is not met. Eliminating these two criteria represents a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations.
Pictures
The ALT text is missing for some of the images displayed, meaning that they are not available for blind users. This means that WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) is not fulfilled. This primarily concerns images of old ideas and serves archival purposes. Removing this criterion for old archive images represents a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations.
For new images, the ALT texts are created and maintained in accordance with the guidelines.
The listed incompatibilities with the accessibility regulations are being corrected on an ongoing basis.
Preparation of the accessibility declaration
The compatibility of the website with the BaFG was assessed in the form of a self-test in accordance with WCAG 2.2.
