Barbara Blaha knows what she’s talking about. Growing up as the child of a working-class family with many siblings but little money, she knows the feeling of being overlooked. Her previous stage programs have been an overwhelming success: thousands have already seen them and every performance has been sold out. In her new program Funkenschwestern and the book of the same name, she combines personal stories with facts, figures and studies and shows why economic issues are always feminist issues. She reveals why women are less often allowed to lead, more often interrupted and paid less. She shows that wages are falling in industries with a high proportion of women and that even a full-time job does not protect women from a second unpaid shift at home.
