– 5/8ERL IN EHR’N –

– 20 YEARS OF VIENNESE SOUL –

An institution of the Austrian music scene celebrates its 20th anniversary. With their WIENER SOUL, 5/8erl in Ehr’n have probably made the coziest and most casual contribution to Austropop. They started out as an insider tip with groovy dialect songs and references to Viennese songs, but soon moved on to FM4 and pop culture with their first hit SIASSE TSCHICK. The band’s oeuvre is diverse, just like their audience. Their song BADESCHLUSS is the cozy, melancholy closing song in the Viennese baths and made the band legendary, from the Schafbergbad to the Gänsehäufel. The chorus of VAPORIZER is sung along to just as many lyrics in Berlin as it is in Graz. “As if Stevie Wonder had smoked a Sachertorte!” says the Bavarian radio station. An atmospheric evening is guaranteed, covering the band’s entire range: from soulful ballads to comic burlesque. Let’s all celebrate with them, let’s cut the birthday melon, it’s great that the 5/8erln exist!

Max Gaier, Robert Slivovsky: vocals
Miki Liebermann: guitar
Hanibal Scheutz: bass
Clemens Wenger: electric piano, accordion
