In a concentrated week from July 14 – 18, 2026, artists from Italy, Taiwan, Germany, China, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland and many other countries will compete in the international a cappella competition vokal.total. In addition to many new friendships, contacts and valuable experiences, the coveted Ward Swingle Awards are up for grabs. For interested singers, there will be a varied workshop program on singing, voice training and other musical topics. …
Looking at the development of a cappella singing, various stages can be identified. Over time, sound designers and sound engineers have become an increasingly important part of the ensembles. When the sounds of the voices are changed, shifted in time and space and transformed into something completely new, fascinating new sounds are created that characterize this modern type of a cappella music.
