Portes de fer’s new album “Música popular” is a soulful, cross-style compilation. Traditional tango sounds from Argentina meet Brazilian rhythms and melodies, while European compositions round off the work. The result is a colorful blend of traditions: Milonga dances are followed by forrós and chôros (popular Brazilian rhythms with samba-like phrasing and form). Similar to jazz, the classical choro repertoire is embellished anew each time through spontaneous improvisations, so that countless new variations emerge from the breath.
On stage:
Eduardo Antiao – cello
Tobias Kochseder – accordion
