Together with his congenial stage partners Manuel Randi (guitars) Werner Unterlercher (bass) and now in a new line-up with Alessandro Trebo (piano and keyboards) and Elisabeth Jamnik (harp), the Herbert Pixner Project has been one of the most successful representatives of “new and progressive folk music” for over twenty years now. With playful and lascivious gentleness, powerful rock and blues riffs, brilliant technique and an extatic joy of playing, they have been delighting an ever-growing audience for years. They weave a diverse tapestry of sound, there is room for gentle melancholy and also for outbursts that stop at nothing. It sounds minimalist, rugged, epic and authentic.
