Jean-Philippe Kindler, author and presenter, has always managed to portray the political in a moving and literary way. In his debut novel “Here is the beginning and the end is there”, he continues along this path: Where does love between people begin in times of iron competition? Where does the political end when people’s lives are decided in the Bundestag ghost train? Is there anything to lose in a time of situation chips and Markus Lanz? All these questions are addressed by two protagonists, Jonas and Estelle, who want to love but don’t quite know how. …
This Graz premiere is far more than a brittle reading, Kindler’s text is in motion and is intended to invite people to start talking. The artist captivates with his pointed wit, which is guaranteed never to be short on social criticism.
About the artist:
Jean-Philippe Kindler, born in Duisburg, is a satirist and political thought leader. His stage programs have earned him the Prix Pantheon and the German Cabaret Prize, among others. He is co-founder of the media collective Studio Rot and works as an advisor to the parliamentary group leader of Die Linke, Heidi Reichinnek. His Spiegel bestseller Scheiß auf Selflove, gib mir Klassenkampf was published in 2023. Jean-Philippe Kindler lives in Hamburg.
