Exhausted individuals control digital bodies: avatars live as youthful climbers, remaining eternally powerful, while we lack strength in real life. Digital alter egos know no decay. Are they role models? What powers would an old, tired hero have? With “Let’s play I am old and tired”, Total Refusal and the Theater im Bahnhof turn Thoreau’s “Walden” into a live game and create a hero who wants to lead a secluded life in the mountains of the video game “Red Dead Redemption II”. …
