Information

In Buenos Aires in the early 20th century, large tango orchestras regularly filled dance halls and
concert halls. Many years later, on the other side of the world, Bandouba, a young
Formation from Graz, follows this extensive musical tradition and plays traditional tango,
starting with the “first tango”, published in 1913, classics from the “golden age
of tango”, music by Astor Piazzolla, as well as contemporary tango by Argentinian
composers* and from their own pen: melodies, rhythms and lyrics that make you think
, move you to dance, break hearts and give you hope.
As one of the largest professional tango ensembles in Austria, their
unique line-up and innovative arrangements create a sound that remains true to the
individualistic approach of the tangueros of the time: It is not mere reproduction that keeps the tango alive,
but perpetual reinvention.
