Even in 2026, it is still not normal for a woman* to be able to move around in public space, in private, in the digital world as naturally and fearlessly as most men do. Ton, Reime, Scherben is a counter-project in the form of a poetry slam that exclusively gives women* a stage and puts their stories and female perspectives front and center. …
There is no textual theme requirement for the performers. The texts must be written by the performers themselves. Whether they are funny, serious, political, critical, thoughtful, rhymed, rapped, shouted, whispered, recited from memory or read off the page is up to everyone. Agnes Maier moderates and slam professionals perform alongside people from the open list.
The Ton, Reime, Scherben – Poetry Slam for Women’s Day will take place for the fourth time in 2026 and we hope that it will eventually become superfluous. It just takes time to smash the patriarchy. A poetry slam doesn’t change the world, of course, but it makes it more bearable. And in safer spaces like this event, women can at least get confirmation that forming gangs is fun, that not everyone has gone crazy and that a different life is possible. An evening full of solidarity, hope, laughter and even a little anger – everything that does you good and helps you to keep going!
