Maria Ma PUR

Maria Ma has developed a unique way of playing her instrument, which is rich in overtones, and touches her audience with the special sound of this ancient instrument, which is associated with Alpine folk music but originally comes from the Persian region. She is currently a member of Gert Steinbäcker’s band, the first S of STS, and performs with her Georg Danzer homage “Maria Ma Terzett feat. Ulli Bäer”. Together with her Viennese PUR Ensemble, she weaves floating soundscapes with earthy rhythms in her own compositions and occasionally lets her musical roots shine through. Wendezeit is the title of her new album and the associated concert series with very personal instrumental narratives about eternal change.
