Alma Brasileira: Luiza Monteiro Sextett

For the past two years, actress and singer Luiza Monteiro from Rio de Janeiro has made Graz her new home. In the process, she has brought her roots to Styria. Longing and curious, she revisits her origins together with Austrian musicians Thomas Quendler (piano), Johannes Mandl (guitar), Bernhard Potzmann (drums), Gloria Handler (percussion) and bassist Alvis Reid. They embark on a journey through Brazilian pop music, starting with the gentle and influential sounds of the bossa nova of the 1950s through to the diverse and modern hits of the 2000s.
