Dear Patti Smith, The last time we met, we were sitting at Schiller’s garden table in Jena drinking a cappuccino, the sun was shining and we were swapping collector’s coins. I asked you if we would meet again, but then I woke up. It was one of several dreams in which you appeared to me and yet we missed each other. Usually you’re the one with the mysterious message or promising invitation, but today it’s me: an evening, you and me, a microphone and a typewriter – are you coming?Because the night belongs to us.
