For the fifth time and after the great opera successes FIDELIO 2020, TOSCA 2021, CARMEN 2023 and DER RING AN EINEM ABEND (FAST) OHNE WORTE 2024, the venues in Graz will once again be inviting audiences to the Kasematten Castle Hill stage in summer 2025. The usual prominent star line-up will also be delivered next August: With the soprano Nicole Chevalier, the Austrian by choice, Kammersänger and baritone Thomas Hampson and the Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja, it will be a dream cast for LA TRAVIATA. …
Passion, longing, despair, anger, reconciliation. LA TRAVIATA by GIUSEPPE VERDI is more than just an opera. It is an emotional, musical and dramatic masterpiece. A story about the challenges of life, the power of love and the fragility of human existence that is deeply moving, especially today.
It is also the fifth edition of the cooperation with Graz Opera, resulting in an opera spectacle at the highest level. Once again, you can look forward to members of the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra and members of the Graz Opera Chorus, conducted by Marcus Merkel.
