Nostalgia (Greek: the pain of an old wound) is a big, small feeling. Nostalgia is more than just a memory, it takes us to a place of childlike longing: a home where we are loved. Music often takes Ariel Oehl to this place and to share this experience he is going on an acoustic tour with Romi Rabic (double bass/violin/piano/voice) and Niklas Apfel (concert guitar/voice). The concerts will be contemplatively acoustic and peppered with beautiful stories about the strange time before the end of the year. Songs written especially for the occasion, acoustic versions of popular Oehl songs and reimagined Christmas carols will be performed. …

No matter how you feel about this whole thing with the wreaths, candles and rituals of the
Christian narrative, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. An evening of
collective nostalgia is granted – the year will have been hard enough.
– ABOUT OEHL –
“Men cry in secret” sings Herbert Grönemeyer in the song Männer in 1984. Not so Ariel Oehl, the singer and songwriter. Ariel now shows his feelings on four records, in his monthly newsletter, on Instagram and on stage. His songs get deep under your skin and are anything but sentimental. They deal with the big issues of society and are served on driving beats, with lively bass lines and a gentleness that is unparalleled in German-language indie pop. Oehl’s music is heavy and light at the same time, a sum of opposites that come together in the music and, as they say in Austria, “work out” quite naturally. Die Zeit attests: “Poppy yes, but unspent”. The musician Caspar, who named Oehl’s song Keramik Song of the Year in 2018, calls Oehl simply a mixture of Tame Impala and Tocotronic.
Oehl has been signed to Grönemeyer’s label Grönland since 2019 and, following “Über Nacht” (2020) and “100% Hoffnung” (2021), also released the album “Keine Blumen” there in 2022. In 2024, the EP TOM was released, an electronic soundscape for balmy summer nights, and in March 2025, just in time for the “Tour of Good Hope”, the latest album “lieben.
