Music theater performance by Ensemble Coincidence
The Mad Kings Summer is an experimental music theater project that combines contemporary music, performance and installation to create an immersive experience. As soon as the audience enters the hall, they become part of an unfolding soundscape before Hyeokjae Kim’s “King of Summers” explores the boundary between rationality and madness. Together with Francesco Filidei’s “I Funerali dell’Anarchico Serantini” and Peter Maxwell Davies’ “Eight Songs for a Mad King”, the evening spans an intense arc between clarity, resistance and decay. Under the artistic direction of Harald Hieronymus Hein, Ensemble Coincidence and conductor Francesco Di Giorgio, music, movement and space merge into a powerful reflection on reason and humanity. …
