With “SOLSTICE,” Thorsteinn Einarsson will release his fifth studio album in March 2027—marking the beginning of one of the most exciting chapters of his career to date.
Inspired by the midnight sun of his native Iceland, “SOLSTICE” tells the story of a long, bright, and positive phase in Thorsteinn’s life: after many ups and downs, Thorsteinn describes the last two years as “a very long, very beautiful day,” a feeling that feels “like a never-ending summer day.”…
Musically, the album brings together everything Thorsteinn Einarsson has stood for over the years: big pop melodies, powerful rock songs, emotional ballads, and intimate acoustic moments. At the same time, the singer-songwriter shows himself to be more versatile than ever on “SOLSTICE”—not only as the writer of his songs, but increasingly also as a multi-instrumentalist and co-producer who plays a wide variety of instruments himself and is more actively involved in the creative process than ever before.
About Thorsteinn:
Born in Iceland, Thorsteinn has lived—after spending time in Vienna and Salzburg—in his adopted home of Gmunden in the Salzkammergut for many years now, where he has found not only creative inspiration but also a new home. When he’s not out hiking with his dog, he works on new music in his studio or invites friends over for songwriting sessions. In addition to music, the trained chef enjoys sports, goes for runs along Lake Traunsee, loves ice bathing in the winter, and is looking forward to seeing his favorite club, FC Liverpool, live in England for the very first time this fall.

All four of his studio albums to date have reached the Top 10 of the Austrian album charts; his latest album (Teardrops & Confettiguns) even debuted at #2 and ranks among the Top 10 best-selling Austrian albums of 2025. His debut single “Leya” was also recently certified gold, while his single “Oh Love” was the most-played domestic song on Austrian radio in 2025. His current singles “Allez” and “Solstice” are also impressive as the first previews of the upcoming (self-titled) album and are thrilling fans both at home and abroad.
With the release of his new single “SOLSTICE” (out May 29), advance ticket sales for the major 2027 album tour are now underway. For the first time, this tour will take Thorsteinn not only through Austria and South Tyrol, but also to Germany, marking the next major step in his career.
