An evening of music and songs by Jewish musicians and composers: Bob Dylan, Carole King, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, Amy Winehouse, Benny Goodman, Lou Reed, Billy Joel, George Gershwin, Stan Getz, Leonard Bernstein, Irving Berlin ……
The list of Jewish artists who have significantly shaped and influenced the popular music of the 20th century is long. In this program, some songs and compositions by these artists are given a new musical guise.
They can be experienced here for the first time in “Klezmer Sound”. No distorted electric guitars, synthesizers or drum computers can be heard, but elements of Jewish music from the east and south-east of Europe are the defining elements and are fused with the well-known songs and instrumental pieces to create a new-sounding unity. This is achieved by a band bursting with joy and virtuosity and a singer who is at home in all genres of popular music. Whether Viennese song, pop, soul or musical – Tini Kainrath dances with ease and perfection at a wide variety of festivals.
